Tennis Competitions

The recent Tennis Festivals and competitions have been very successful. These have been run in conjunction with Penzance Tennis Club and coach Luke Dews.

The Year  3/4 Festival - 4 schools attended this open festival afternoon it was a chance for everyone to have a go and lots of encouragement was offered by the Penwith College Sports Leaders.

The Year 5/6 Competition

All teams performed extremely well, especially in the warm conditions. there were many close matches. Special thanks go to the Penpol, Bolitho and Pensans Team Captains for scoring the matches throughout the afternoon, and also to Penzance Tennis Club for allowing the competition to be hosted at their excellent facility.

Congratulations to Penpol A and Mousehole E Teams - both qualify for the County Finals on Thursday 8th July.

We would also like to recognise the Penpol B Team who did win Group One - unfortunately for Penpol only one team from a school will go through to the County Finals, nevertheless Penpol B put in a great performance and should also be congratulated.

Emma Austin, Competition Manager, said 'I apologise for the event running over time, but hope that all players enjoyed playing their tennis in great weather and on great courts.'

The Year 7/8 Competition Winners were Mounts Bay School and Runners up were Humphry Davy. Mounts Bay School went on to become Runners Up at the Inter SSP Tennis Competition on the 6th July.
